For some reason, it wont let me change my profile to show the new email I am using. It says it couldnt send an email to the address. I know it is in there correct

My e mail address has changed since i have been on here last and when i try to update it, a message comes up saying they can't send me an e mail, it is a g mail account and is a good e mail address, can anyone help with this?
