No if you check the rules for the game you will see that the only way to win is to have exactly 5 in a row -- no more and no less. So joining a broken line to make 6 will not be a win.
Gomoku as implemented on the site follows the casual rules of the game. For ranked and tournament play there is an even stricter set of rules.
