I have had two instances where I have clicked my place where I want my piece (for go-moku), looked to make sure that is right where I want (like I always do, and what I recommend you all do too), and then submitted that move. When the player I am playing plays there next move and it is then my turn and I see the game board, my move didn't go through the way that I wanted it too! Has there been problems with this with anyone else? This is crappy because both times have resulted in my losses! I only have two!... and they are both because of that!!! AGGHHH!!!
Sorry to hear about the trouble. I'm a bit confused, actually. I wouldn't be 100% surprised to find that there was a problem like that on rare occasions with the non-Java (WebTV) games because of the problems discussed in this forum thread. But from the server logs, it looks like you play using the Java games. I've never heard of anything like this happening with the Java games. Can you confirm for me: Does the message area appear to the right of the board, or underneath it?
Sorry again to hear about the trouble, -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
Since my previous post, I have had another instance of this happening. I don't really care, I just like playing. It was just frustrating when I first came on to this site because I wanted to keep that "perfect record", but that is since down the tubes... So, it is not a big deal.
If it's on the right, you're using the Java games. I've never heard of a problem like this with the Java games in several years of being involved with the site, which makes it sound like a problem with your computer setup -- except that I can't imagine what it could be about your computer setup that would cause something like that. Gomoku is a very thoroughly-tested game; if it were a problem with the game code, I think we'd've seen it by now.
Sorry not to have a better answer for you!! -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
Oh well... I don't care really... I just want to keep playing because this site is getting better everytime you do an improvement, I have seen it already and I have only been here a short while. I just need to get over a lose every once in a while, becaue I am sure that if it happens to me, things happen to others as well. Keep doing what your doing T.J., you are making great strides with this site!
