Folks,

Thought I should mention a bug I've noticed in the new forums: The dates/times on messages are off by five hours. I assumed our database system worked in GMT, but it works in the local time of the machine where it's running, and as the server is in CST (GMT-0500), the dates and times are all five hours off.

So for instance, I'm posting this at about 13:28 GMT, but it'll probably show up as 08:28 GMT (which will be shown as whatever it is in your timezone).

I would have caught this in my own testing, but I happen to live in GMT (Wales, if you're curious), so my local database was working in GMT! ;-)

Seems to me the time is still not working correctly.
I think my time seems to be advanced by 1 hour on this site to what it really should be. I have chosen lots of different time zones on the same time zone, ie CA, Vancouver, etc, and the problem seems the same.
I am on PST California time and am leaving this message at 8:57 am

That's right, I haven't fixed the forum bug yet.:-) I'll post a message when I have the fix in place. In the meantime, forum message times are five hours off.

That's a different issue, with the main site. I don't know what's going on, but you're not the only one -- it keeps telling me the time is one hour later than it is, too. I've double-checked the actual time on the server, and my time zone setting. I'll see if Jock knows why that's happening. I've eliminated what I first thought the problem was, that it thought the server (or I) was in daylight savings time; that's not it...

Fixed. Now the times should be shown correctly. I also added an indicator of your time zone.

I should mention that the main site still has an issue with time (it's one hour ahead), which also affects the forums. We'll have that fixed in a jiffy...

And that, too, is fixed. Times and dates should be correct now.
