For those of you who are already signed up as beta testers, drop by the beta site -- Halma is there and ready for testing!
For those who don't know about beta* testing, there's a separate site where we do some testing of new features with just a small group of users who've helped us with testing before. (We have all of the testers we need right now, but if/when we need more, we'll do a note here asking for volunteers.)
Unless the beta testing reveals some major bug(s), I expect we'll have Halma here on the live system in a testing capacity (e.g., all games unrated) by Sunday at the latest. I'll keep you posted.
* Why "beta" testing? "Beta" is the second letter of the greek alphabet (in fact, that's where the word "alphabet" comes from -- "alpha, beta, ...") and is used to refer to the second level of testing, usually where you get real users to test something. (In contrast to "alpha" testing, which is typically done by technical folks who aren't "real" users and so don't usually succeed in finding the same bugs that real users find...)
